Minimum hes Training Expectations for ContractorsContractors are responsible for providing the appropriate safety and job training to ensure that their employees have the knowledge and skills to perform their jobs safely. As a minimum, Marathon contractors are expected to meet regulatory training requirements applicable to the jurisdiction where the work is to be performed and the hazards associated with the work or work environment. Training requirements in OSHA Standards and Training Guidelines can be viewed online. The Marathon contract or Job Order may stipulate additional health, safety and environmental training requirements. Where a regulatory standard contains training requirements to be considered "qualified," "certified," or "competent" for the job assignment, the prescribed requirements must be met by the Contractor Employee. OSHA standards, interpretations, preambles to final rules, and directives that reference "competent person" may be viewed online. It is the contractor's responsibility to provide the appropriate training, unless otherwise stated in the contract, and to ensure that the training/certification is valid throughout the duration of the work. Contractor must be able to provide evidence of training, when requested by the Marathon site supervisor or auditor. |
