Exploration and Production

Headquartered in Houston, Texas, Marathon hires geoscientists, engineers and land professionals to help explore for and develop oil and gas resources in the U.S. and around the world. Marathon has Exploration and Production operations in the U.S., Angola, Canada, Equatorial Guinea, Indonesia, Libya, Norway and the U.K. Within the U.S., Marathon's current focus areas include Colorado, the Gulf of Mexico, North Dakota, Oklahoma, Pennsylvania, Texas and Wyoming.

Refining, Marketing and Transportation

Headquartered in Findlay, Ohio, Marathon's Downstream operations employ individuals in many engineering disciplines, marketing and transportation professionals and operations personnel. Marathon's seven refineries and vast marketing, transportation and logistics network bring oil and gas to markets across 21 U.S. states. The refinery locations include Illinois, Kentucky, Louisiana, Michigan, Minnesota, Ohio and Texas. In addition, employees with Marathon Pipe Line Company LLC operate 54 pipelines in 13 U.S. states.

Recently, we have been made aware of multiple scams whereby unauthorized individuals are using Marathon's name and logo to solicit potential job-seekers for employment. In some cases, job-seekers are being contacted directly, both by phone and e-mail. In other instances, these unauthorized individuals are placing advertisements for fake positions with both legitimate websites and fabricated ones. These individuals are typically promising high-paying jobs with the requirement that the job-seeker send money to pay for things such as visa applications or processing fees.
